Al-Shifa, the Hamas fortified tunnel is discovered

A tunnel about 55 meters long under the Al-Shifa hospital is another piece of evidence released by the Israeli military that shows that Hamas carries out terrorist activities. Israel says the tunnel was equipped with stairs, an armored door and a loophole that could be used to block Israeli forces from entering. While admitting to having a network of hundreds of kilometers of secret tunnels, bunkers throughout the Palestinian enclave, Hamas has denied that these are located in civilian infrastructure, such as hospitals.

The Israel Defense Forces also say the tunnel was in a part of the hospital complex where a vehicle loaded with weapons was found last week. The Israeli army has announced that it is investigating how far the tunnel reaches. An agreement to release some of the hostages held by Hamas is still being discussed. Michael Herzog, Israel's ambassador to the US, hopes that a "significant number" can be released in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the situation is catastrophic as Israeli forces intensify their attacks. Israeli tanks surrounded the Indonesian hospital in Gaza, where at least 12 people were killed. Medical staff at the Indonesian Hospital are insisting they will not move but will stay to treat the injured. There are about 700 people inside the hospital, including the medical staff and the injured. The main operating theater inside the Indonesian Hospital has been damaged and is no longer available for operations.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll had risen to 13,000 people, with thousands more missing and injured in the fighting. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk has released another video saying he is "appalled by the terrible events of the last 48 hours in Gaza". Turk was referring to Israel's attacks on the Jabalia refugee camp.

"The killings of so many in schools-turned-shelters, amid the flight of thousands of people from Al-Shifa hospital and the ongoing displacement in southern Gaza is completely contrary to the protection of civilians required under international law," wrote Turk on the X platform.

Meanwhile, fighting continues in the West Bank. Israeli forces have raided houses on the outskirts of the town of Tulkarem. Fighting also broke out between Palestinian groups and Israeli forces after the latter raided the Far'a camp in Tubas in the West Bank.
