The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, at the same time a reporter for the Council of Europe on the confiscation of Russian assets and their use to repair the damage caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine, met with a delegation from Ukraine, which included MPs, political experts, commentators and activists.
Basha has expressed his and DP's support for the leadership and people of Ukraine, who continue to face the Russian aggressors with heroic courage. These are dark days not only for Ukraine but also for the democratic world, which is facing the attempt to alienate with war the territorial integrity of a sovereign and independent state.
Basha said that the responsibility for the crimes and damages caused in Ukraine by Russia's unprovoked aggression belongs to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and he must pay for it.
The Russian Federation has the obligation to compensate Ukraine, its citizens, enterprises and government, for the damages caused by the illegal acts of the Russian Federation, said Basha, according to which this is the essence of the resolution proposed by him in the Council of Europe and that there is broad support from the member countries of this organization, said Basha.
