The Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, condemns the murder of the Kosovo Police officer. In a reaction to the media, Nikolla stressed that the perpetrators of this crime must be held accountable and the criminals must be brought to justice.
"I strongly condemn today's attack in the vicinity of Banjska in the North of Kosovo, as a result of which one Kosovo Police officer was killed and another was injured. The perpetrators of this crime must be held accountable and the criminals must be brought to justice.
I express my condolences and share the pain with the family of the officer killed in the line of duty.
This brutal criminal act against the Kosovo Police officers and its tragic consequences are signs that the developments may worsen if the Euro-Atlantic community and KFOR do not intervene to stop the escalation of the situation. The dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, according to the recommendations of the USA and the EU, remains the only way to normalize bilateral relations. On the other hand, the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is a necessary condition for security and peace in the region," she emphasized in her reaction.
