The rift between Prince William and his brother Harry doesn't seem to be over, at least for now.

Harry, according to British press reports, would have liked a reunion with William, but instead, he spent his first night in the UK in a hotel.

Although there are no plans on the agenda for the two brothers to meet during Harry's stay in Britain, their mutual friend Mark Dyer - may act as an intermediary to arrange the meeting between them.

It is believed that William is currently focused on caring for his wife Kate, who is recovering from recent abdominal surgery.

The Duke of Sussex met his father King Charles within 45 minutes of arriving home.

Harry, however, did not spend the night at any royal residences, having been evicted from Frogmore Cottage last year. According to British media, he stayed in a luxury hotel.

Harry is not expected to stay long in London and will return home to Montecito, California, where his wife Meghan Markle and two children, Archie, four, and Lilybet, two, await him.

Meeting Charles

Prince Harry had his first meeting with King Charles since 2022 yesterday and according to the Sun's royal editor Matt Wilkinson, this father-son reunion "lasted less than 45 minutes".

The Duke of Sussex was pictured arriving at Clarence House at around 15pm (local time), having been taken there with a police escort following his 15-hour flight from Los Angeles.

It is the first time Harry has seen his father since his coronation nine months ago. The King and Queen were seen waving to the crowds as they left their official residence.

The 75-year-old monarch was driven in a Bentley with Queen Camilla from Clarence House to Buckingham Palace.

A helicopter then took off from the palace, with King Charles landing at Sandringham, Norfolk, where Britain's monarch will be based during his medical treatment. Palace sources said the king would now spend most of his time at his country residence, returning to London only once a week for business and further treatment.

Buckingham Palace said the cancer was discovered during his latest treatment for an enlarged prostate. It was a "special issue" and not prostate cancer, he noted. The palace said the king began "regular treatments" on Monday.

The king's relationship with his youngest son has been seriously strained since Harry's decision to step back from royal duties in 2020 and voiced various grievances against the royal family in a series of interviews.

The controversial Spare memoirs, written by Harry, further damaged his relationships with his father and brother, claiming that William physically assaulted him and that the King put his interests above Harry's.
