The Russian military has recently announced that it will establish a humanitarian corridor to evacuate civilians trapped at the Azot chemical plant in the besieged Ukrainian city of Severodonetsk.
"Guided by the principles of humanity, the Russian armed forces and formations of the People's Republic of Luhansk are ready to organize a humanitarian operation for the evacuation of civilians", declared today the Russian Ministry of Defense as it added that civilians would be transported to the separatist region of Luhansk.
The Interfax news agency reports that the Russian Defense Ministry had offered the Ukrainian fighters sheltered at the Azot plant the opportunity to surrender the next day.
The Russian ministry said Ukraine had asked Russia to set up an evacuation corridor to help civilians leave the plant at a time when Russian forces have destroyed all bridges connecting Severodonetsk with Ukrainian-controlled territory.tvklan.al
