Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a draft law that provides for lowering the age of eligible persons for mobilization from 27 to 25 years, the press service of the parliament reported.

The bill was approved by parliament in May 2023.

The new legislation provides that Ukrainian men with no prior combat experience can register to join the armed forces when they turn 25.

Later this month, the Ukrainian parliament will vote on a separate bill, which is also expected to strengthen the country's mobilization rules.

Earlier, Ukrainian authorities have expressed plans to mobilize between 450,000 and 500,000 people to take part in the conflict with Russia.
