Supreme Court of Georgia in the US has reinstated a ban on abortions after about six weeks of pregnancy, as in a one-page order, the court overruled a lower court ruling that overturned the pending ban.

Abortion clinics that had resumed performing the procedure six weeks after the lower court's ruling have now been forced to stop operating again.

Amy Kennedy, vice president of external affairs for Planned Parenthood Southeast, said: It is unconscionable that the Georgia Supreme Court has chosen to deny pregnant women the ability to decide what is best for their lives and futures.
