Unjustified expenses even for the apartment with state money

Boris Johnson is under accusations of public opinion in the United Kingdom on the suspicion that he and some ministers have broken government rules to limit movements during the holiday season last year and for unjustified spending on housing with money from the state budget. The Sunday Mirror newspaper published photos from the Christmas celebrations of Johnson and his two ministers when it was banned due to Covid-19.

The photo is believed to have been taken when London was under Covid-19 restrictions last December that prevented mixing between different families. Under Level 2 rules, people were not allowed to socialize indoors with anyone outside their home or support bubble. The sixth rule applied to escorting out.

Johnson was already under fire when a video emerged of a spokeswoman joking about a Downing Street Christmas gathering while practicing for press conferences. She later resigned over the video.

"I understand and share the anger up and down the country at staff who seem to be making light of the lockdown rules," Johnson told lawmakers last week.

"I was also furious when I saw that clip. I apologize unreservedly for the offense it has caused up and down the country and I apologize for the impression it gives you."

Johnson said he had ordered Britain's most senior civil servant, Simon Case, to investigate and said anyone found to have broken the rules would be disciplined.
