Many citizens are facing the lack of electricity and water
At least 92 people have lost their lives due to bad weather in the US. More victims were in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Washington, Kentucky, Wisconsin, New York and New Jersey. Most deaths are related to motor vehicle accidents caused by bad weather. Based on this fact, American authorities have called on citizens to avoid unnecessary trips.
According to CBS News, millions of Americans have been affected by adverse winter conditions. As the state of emergency declared due to the ice storm in western Oregon continues, there have also been power outages in places like Pennsylvania, California and Indiana.
Water supply also remains a problem due to frozen pipes. The polar cold that continues to affect many regions of the USA according to forecasters will continue until the beginning of next week. After that, higher temperatures are expected, with some meteorologists warning that warm air and rain could cause flooding in the northeastern US.
