The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is meeting today to decide whether Russia will be expelled from the Council of Europe.
In a Skype connection from Strasbourg, the vice-president of the DP, Jorida Tabaku, told 'News24' that the Democrats will support the resolution to exclude Russia from this important instance, after the aggression that this country launched against Ukraine.
"Strasbourg, the Assembly of the Council of Europe has gathered to decide whether or not to dismiss Russia from the Council of Europe. There have been interesting developments that I have been following. A resolution was passed yesterday. The decision will be made today at dinner. It is a historic decision, this is a real action that accompanies the sanctions, but also a strong political document that will be accompanied by decisions of other organizations. In the Council of Europe there are some principles, standards, that threats cannot be allowed. Russia is undermining the security and order of the whole world. DP will support other right-wing parties for the exclusion of Russia from the Council of Europe. the isolation of Russia may begin and the influence that important bodies of Russia may have. All the eyes of the world are directed to Ukraine," said Tabaku.
