Republicans and Democrats each have 46 seats in the US Senate so far, while there are still some important states left open.
The states where the Democrats expect to win are Arizona, where they lead with 58% of the votes, and Hawaii, where the counting has not yet begun.
While the Democrats lead with a very small number of votes Georgia and by 2% more in Wisconsin, as they count as certain victories in Alaska and Utah.
The two states that will be decisive in the last moments are Pennsylvania, where the Democrats are leading with a very narrow difference of votes and Nevada where the counting has not started yet.

Democrats need at least 50 seats to retain control of the Senate with Vice President Kamala Harris who could give them the vote to make the majority, while Republicans need 51 seats to win control.
Currently, of the 65 seats in the Senate that are not subject to voting today, 36 seats belong to the Democrats, while 29 seats belong to the Republicans.
Of the 35 seats up for grabs today, Republicans are currently favored to win 20 seats, while Democrats are favored to win 12 seats. 3 seats are considered undetermined and may go from one candidate to another during the count.
To control the US House of Representatives, a party must hold 218 of the 435 seats.
According to CNN, Republicans are currently favored to win 216 seats, while Democrats are favored to win 199 seats. 20 countries are still undecided.
